Potential Ipad Killer?

With the release of the Ipad earlier this year there have been many subsequent copies in its tail wind. What exactly do other companies hope to accomplish by releasing a competing product in this particular market? Do they have the research and development to even step up to the plate with a product to go head to head with the Ipad? While there are rumors of Ipad killers and windows based comparables what will it take to seduce a potential Ipad customer to another such device? The answer the Toshiba Libretto W105.

A Multi Taskers Delight

This device is not only very striking to the eye, much like the Ipad. It comes packed with potential to be a very competitive device. Capitalizing on the popularity of the dual screened Nintendo DS, the Libretto has two 7-inch touchscreens that are powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. The screen duality is a multi-taskers wet dream. The top can display a typical Windows 7 operating screen while the bottom can display one of six different keyboards. Or you can watch the latest episode of Jersey Shore while blogging about how many times you see a Ed Hardy t-shirt.

As a direct rival of the apple stores ebook library, Toshiba has its own eReader, that when the device is turned on its side displays the text like a traditional book. The overall design of this device is super functional and as it would seem, poises it for direct competition with the Ipad. Toshiba even went as far as to position similarly sized buttons for home screen return in the same location as the Ipad's, as if to say, I don't want to fight, lets be friends Ipad.

While the Ipad has had a clear head start, the Toshiba Libretto seems to be a quality device for second place, for now.

I have been a fan of Apple® for many years. When the iPad® come out, I liked it. The only thing I did not like was $499.00 price tag. Let some one else pay for R.D. @ Apple®. The Toshiba® Libretto™ W105 looks like a fine device. It is going to have an SSD drive, which is incredible. The idea of the two touch screens is superb. It will also have a USB® and Memory Card ports, which the Apple® iPad® does not, take notes Apple®. The $1,100 price tag for the new Toshiba® Libretto™ W105 may be high. I will have to test drive it to see if it is worth while. At least, Toshiba® is pushing the envelope in the netbook arena. - v.e.r.
